MIDeC – Museo Internazionale Design Ceramico

Fondato nel 1971 nel cinquecentesco palazzo Perabò Palazzo, sul lungolago, testimonia una storia all’insegna della ceramica lunga più di 150 anni: un articolato percorso al primo piano racconta le vicende della Società Ceramica Italiana e dei suoi protagonisti, da Guido Andloviz a Antonia Campi attraverso grandi vasi, portaombrelli, piatti e servizi da tavola finemente decorati, realizzati tra la fine dell’Ottocento e primo Novecento, sanitari e articoli free standing degli anni Cinquanta, alcune sale ad illustrare didatticamente la produzione nel corso del tempo.

Al pianterreno le sale sono dedicate ad esposizioni temporanee che coniugano il passato con la contemporaneità. Una biblioteca specialistica arricchisce il patrimonio conservato, a disposizione di studiosi e appassionati della materia.

Founded in 1971, in the sixteenth-century Palazzo Perabò, on the lakefront, it bears witness to a history of ceramics spanning more than 150 years. On the first floor, tells the story of the Italian Ceramic Society and its protagonists, from Guido Andloviz to Antonia Campi through large vases, umbrella stands, finely decorated plates and tableware, made between the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries, bathroom fixtures and free-standing items from the 1950s, some rooms to didacticly illustrate the production over time.

On the ground floor, the rooms are dedicated to temporary exhibitions that combine the past with the contemporary. A specialist library enriches the preserved heritage, available to scholars and enthusiasts of the subject.
